Added On Some Pounds During Lock Down? Tips To Help You Lose The Extra Weight

Posted on: 27 July 2020

If you've been putting on a few extra pounds during the lock down, you might be looking for a way to get rid of it. It's not easy to avoid weight gain during a lock down. If you're like most people, you've increased your stress eating. Not only that, you can't get out and exercise on a regular basis. Those changes are a recipe for weight gain. Luckily, there are some things you can do that will help you to drop the pounds. Here are four strategies to add to your daily routine.

Watch the Clock

If your schedule has been out of whack due to the lock down, you might not be eating on a regular schedule. Unfortunately, that can increase your risk of weight gain. This is especially true if you're eating later into the evening hours. When you eat a big meal right before bedtime, your body doesn't have enough time to start the digestion process. That means the food has more time to just sit in your stomach. Not only does this increase your risk of weight gain, it also causes digestive troubles for you. To help to control your weight during lock down, try to stick to a meal schedule. Be sure to have your final meal of the day, earlier in the evening.

Drink More Water

If you're spending the lock down time by drinking more soda, and sweetened juices, you're going to see some weight gain during the lock down. Unfortunately, that weight will be difficult to lose, especially if you continue to drink the same beverages. Luckily, you can reduce the calories, improve your health, and lose the weight you've gained. You just need to put the sweetened beverages away, and drink more water. Drinking more water throughout the day reduces your food cravings, and eliminates empty calories from your diet. If you want to add flavor to your water, toss some fresh fruit into your glass.

Switch to Healthy Snacks

If you're like most people, you've increased your snacking during the lock down. If the snacks you've chosen, includes chips, cookies, and other unhealthy snacks, you might be seeing some weight gain. If that's the case, it's time to switch to healthier snacks. Stock your kitchen up with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. If you're looking for something crunchy and salty, add some whole fiber snack crackers. That way, you're satisfying a snack urge, and you're choosing a healthy option.
